Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Jharkhand, L Khiangte, on Wednesday convened a review meeting at Bokaro Niwas to discuss the general preparedness for Lok Sabha elections in Dhanbad and Giridih Constituencies. Both constituencies will be going for the poll on 12 May.
CEO discussed on the facilities available at the polling booths and clusters, the number of personnel deputed in the voting process and their training, EVM Dispatch Communication Plan, vehicles to be used for election purposes and available number of ballot paper materials, standard material including expenditure as well as on model code of conduct.
He directed the officials to provide the best medical facilities for the poll personnel and security forces deputed in the cluster beside toilet facilities.
The medical team has been instructed to be prepared with all life-saving equipment, ambulance, ORS and medicines to deal with accidental incidents of health-related medical emergencies of election personnel and security personnel deputed in the election work.
He asked the officials to take immediate action on the complaints coming on cVIGIL App.
“Make it sure that all political parties should keep their help desk out of 200 meters radius of the polling station. Polling parties will go to the polling station on foot. Charging points should also be installed in the cluster so that the mobile is not discharged under any circumstances,” said CEO.
During the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Bokaro cum electoral officer Giridih Kripa Nand Jha and District Electoral Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Dhanbad A Dodde informed CEO about the number of workers engaged in the election process, along with the number of sensitive and sensitive polling booths in their constituencies.
