# Dhanbad, Giridih going for the poll on Sunday
Keen contests are on the cards for Dhanbad and Giridih Lok Sabha seats as BJP (NDA) and Congress (Grand Alliance) slugging it out to ensure the victory of their candidates. The fortune of the candidates, 20 on Dhanbad and 15 on Giridih LS seats have been sealed as both seats going to be polled in the sixth phase on Sunday.
Both Lok Sabha seats are known to the traditional seats of BJP but this time AJSU is contesting as an ally of BJP under their alliance deal on Giridih LS seat while Congress candidate Kriti Azad is contesting on Dhanbad LS seat under Grand Alliance.
It will be a litmus test for BJP (NDA) candidates who had registered a thumping victory with a margin of more than 2.92 lakh votes on Dhanbad LS seat and over 40 thousand votes on Giridih LS seat in 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
The bi-polar contest is expected in both of the constituencies through Dhanbad constituency may witness a triangular contest. The arch-rivals for Dhanbad LS seat are BJP sitting MP PN Singh and Congress candidate Kriti Azad and an independent candidate Siddharth Goutam (from Singh Mansion).
Independent candidate Siddharth could also play spoilsport in this contest.
While on Giridih LS seat there is a direct contest between Chandra Prakash Choudhary AJSU (BJP alliance candidate) and Jagarnath Mahato JMM (Grand alliance candidate).
Meanwhile, both constituencies are blanketed with huge security cover, the districts administrations are all set to go for peaceful and fearless poll. Most of the terrain in both constituencies surrounded with dense forestry and hilly areas which is the breeding ground of outlawed CPI moist.
Drinking water, health, electricity, road connectivity, education, employment including others is the major issues found across the constituency.
Unprecedented security personnel comprising Central Para Military Forces (CPMF) including Jaguar, Jharkhand police, SISS and CRPF personnel with Zonal and Super Zonal Magistrates, Micro observers are deployed to conduct a peaceful poll, said P Murgun SP Bokaro.
Both LS constancies share few parts of Bokaro district. Bokaro assembly constituency ranked in the top for highest numbers of voters, Bokaro DC and district electoral officer Giridih K N Jha urges from the voters to must cast their franchise.
In the rural area’s voters including new to who are in their late 80ies willingly came out to cast their right but in urban pockets most of the voters did not bother; they preferred watching TV in their homes, he said. “It was seen that areas with a higher rate of literacy had a lower voter turnout than areas with poor literacy rate across the constituency,” he added.
“We hope for a huge turnout of voters,” he said.
