ANS: U.S. President Donald Trump and his wife Melania have tested positive for coronavirus. Trump tweeted on Thursday night after the infection was confirmed to have been contracted by one of his senior advisors, Hope Hicks.
This week, Hicks flew with the president on several flights, including Marine One, the presidential helicopter, and Air Force One abroad. How Trump contracted the virus that has infected more than 7 million Americans and killed more than 200,000 is not immediately clear.
Trump announced his health status on Twitter, saying they will “begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!,” he said.
“Trump had kept up a rigorous travel schedule across the country in recent weeks, holding rallies with thousands of people in the run-up to the Nov. 3 election, despite warnings from public health professionals against having events with large crowds,” reported Reuters.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has been shifted to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Maryland. The US President informed about his trip to the hospital through a short video that he shared on Twitter. In his message, Trump thanked his well-wishers for their support and said, he is doing very well. Trump’s campaign manager said, all campaign events involving the US President and his family will either be turned into virtual events or postponed until further notice.
