ANS I Ranchi: The Jharkhand government extended the lockdown-like restrictions till 3 June with strict provisions and all restrictions imposed earlier, it said in an official statement.
The decisions were taken at the state disaster management authority (SDMA) meeting chaired by chief minister Hemant Soren.
This is the fifth consecutive time when the government has extended the lockdown-like restrictions popularly known as Swasthya Surakasha Saptah (Health Protection Week) will come into effect from 6 am on 27 May, along with all the existing restrictions till 6 am on 3 June, it said.
The order stated that students appearing for exams, people out for medical help, government employees, and interstate travelers will not need to carry e-pass if they can produce necessary documents that prove their purpose for moving outdoors.
Students moving out of their houses for exams will not be stopped if they produce their admit cards. Similarly, people travelling either by railways or airways, will not need an e-pass if they are carrying relevant tickets, the notification further stated.
The order also mentioned that farmers moving out of their houses for selling their agricultural produce will not require an e-pass. All Government offices and offices directly or indirectly contributing to the State’s fight against Covid-19 will be open till 2 pm. The employees are expected to follow COVID appropriate behavior and maintain social distancing, the notification stated.
Meanwhile, the others restrictions are the same as imposed earlier. It is mandatory seven days home or institutional quarantine for people coming outside from the state. It would be barred for those who will leave the state within 72 hours.
It has prohibited Inter-state and intra-state bus services, while the e-pass for private movement is now issued, officials said.
In addition, marriage functions may only be held in homes or courts with a maximum of 11 participants. The upper limit was previously 50 people.
The government had first imposed the Health Protection Week (lockdown with restrictions) from 6 am on April 22 to 6 am of April 29. The lockdown got a second extension from 6 am on April 29 to 6 am of May 6 and a third extension from 6 am on May 6 to 6 am on May 13. The fourth was from 16 May to 27 May.
The coronavirus death surpasses 4,800 marks in Jharkhand, the total count rushed to 4871 while the total number of active cases rushed to around 17569 with a total count of 331811 cases in the state. Meanwhile, 309371 people were recovered and returned to their homes.
