ANS I Bokaro: To commemorate ‘Maa Lakshmi Puja’, Mithila Sanskritik Parishad (MSP) Bokaro organised ‘Kojagra Utsav’ at Mithila Academy Public School Auditorium in Sector 4 of Bokaro Steel City on Tuesday. By following the COVID-19 rules and keeping a safe distance from the crowd, the event was attended with a lot of zeal and passion.
On this day, people of the society worship Goddess Lakshmi and pray for happiness and prosperity, said Avinash Kumar Jha, General Secretary of MSP . “This festival is celebrated in every house on the day of Ashwin Purnima. Especially in the house of newly married youths of the society, it is celebrated as a big festival,” he added.
There is a tradition of eating “Paan” and “Makhan” as prasad on this day, said Jha.
A grand cultural fest was organised on this eve includes solo songs, group songs which were presented in the Maithili language by artist Arun Pathak, Preeti Rai, Sujata Jha, Madhu Jha, Kiran Jha, Neelu Jha, Kiran Mishra, Preeti Priya, Alka Jha, Bharti Jha, Mamta Jha, Namita Jha, Pinky and Upasana also presented the group songs.
The festival was inaugurated by BSL Chief General Manager cum President of Mithila Sanskritik Parishad Anil Kumar, Vice President Animesh Kumar Jha, Rajendra Kumar, General Secretary Avinash Kumar Jha, Program Director Shambhu Jha, Mithila Mahila Samiti President Kiran Mishra by lighting the lamp.
Addressing the gathering Kumar emphasized on the rich Mithila Art and Culture and appealed the audience to preserve it with essence.
