Bokaro: “Do not blame your failure on the situation. Always be self motivated. Create positive energy within yourself,” said Subham Kumar, Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) topper while sharing his success the mantra of with the students of Chinmaya Vidyalaya at Bokaro Steel City on Thursday.

Motivating to the students, Subham said, “Never hang out with an enthusiastic person or a downbeat situation. Always stay away from the hopeless situation.”

“Always keep a small goal, make a better policy for it, implement it with determination, analyze your weakness and strength every week. Make a plan again and again and see where you are failing, remove the introspection, you will definitely get success,” Shubham advised.

It was possible to be successful without having access to world-class facilities. In my opinion, hard work and dedication are the keys to success. He also stressed the importance of group studies because it “improves efficiency”.

During the interaction, Shubham encouraged the students to set high goals and answer their questions about exam preparation, time management, and study resources.

When a youngster enquired about the best time to start studying for the IAS exam, he said that starting too early would be a deterrent.

First, get good grades in your +2 exams and then get yourself enrolled a reputable college or university. This will allow you to determine your career path, as well as the subject to study and direction to follow in society. Take note of it, he said.

Prepare for the exam by making small notes; it is easy to revise small notes at the time of examination, Subham advised.

Interacting with the students, Shubham clarified the difference between JEE and IAS preparations. The preparation policy for both exams should be the same. The only difference is that you prepare for JEE for a good college, and Civil Services is your career, he said.

Subham said, “I wanted to join the IAS because it gives me a bigger platform to work for the people. It came true, and I want to help the poor, especially in rural areas.”

“Elevation of poverty, illiteracy and developing villages along with their inhabitants would be my priority during my tenure,” he added.

Shubham is an alumnus of Chinmaya Vidyalaya Bokaro, 2014 batch. He hails from the city of Katihar (Bihar) and has been a meritorious student since childhood Subham had completed his schooling at Chinmaya Vidyalaya in 2014 with an outstanding score of 95.8%. After that, Shubham appeared for the JEE exams and pursued engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay.

Shubham was given a grand welcome at Chinmaya Vidyalaya. He was received by all the officials of the school management; reached the auditorium amid Gita chanting by the students.
