ANS: Captain Amarinder Singh, the ex-chief minister of Punjab, has joined BJP; his party, the Punjab Lok Congress, merged with BJP in New Delhi today. Union Ministers Narendra Singh Tomar and Kiren Rijiju along with top BJP leaders were present during the induction of Singh.

Along with Captain Amarinder Singh, former Lok Sabha MP Amrik Singh Aliwal and former Punjab Assembly Speaker Ajaib Singh Bhatti also joined the BJP.

Talking to reporters, BJP leader and Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar stated that the induction of Captain Amarinder Singh into the BJP will strengthen the Party base in Punjab, and it also proves that Singh desires for there to be peace and law and order in the state.

Singh thanked Prime Minister, Union Home Minister, and BJP National President for inducting him and others into the Party. He said, the decision to merge the party was taken keeping in mind the interest of Punjab
