IIT-ISM Dhanbad, is all geared up to host a five-day Bootcamp training program on Unmanned Aircraft Systems from 13 to 17 May.

Aiming for capacity building for Human resource development in Unmanned Aircraft Systems (guidance, navigation, and control) in India under a project funded by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, this training programme is being hosted by the Department of Electronics Engineering of IIT-ISM, informed Rajni Singh, Dean, Media & Branding of IIT-ISM Dhanbad.

“This Bootcamp training program is scheduled to be organized at the Drone Electronics Lab, Electronics Engineering Department on the 6th Floor of the New Academic Complex and will provide the theory and Hands-on experiments on Drone Electronics,” she added.

The program will cover— Introduction to Drones; Basics of Aircraft Systems; Classification; UAV communication; Sensors; Data Acquisition Systems of UAV; Demonstration of drone assembly along with Hands-on some aspects and challenges of drone electronics, she said.

“Any B.Tech, M.Tech, M.S., PhD, Diploma Pass outs or pursuing students from IIT-ISM Dhanbad or other institutions can join the camp. A registration fee of Rs. 500 is applicable for participants in this camp. However, if the participants seek accommodation inside the campus, then the registration fees would be Rs.3000,” she added.

Professor Abhishek Grover, one of the coordinators of the Bootcamp said, “Drone robotics is quite a significant subject to be learned by our youngsters these days. The government is funding such workshops for capacity building for human resource development in Unmanned Aircraft Systems (guidance, navigation, and control).”

“This workshop will help to learn about the integration of electronics in practical systems, embedded systems and sensors, systems and mechanics related to drones,” added Grover.
