ANS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on an official visit to France and the United Arab Emirates from 13 to 15 July; will visit Paris on the first stage of his journey at the request of French President Emmanuel Macron.

On Friday, Modi will be the Guest of Honor at the Bastille Day Parade, in which a tri-services Indian military forces contingent will take part.

Modi will meet with President Macron in formal talks. In honour of the Prime Minister, the French President will host a State Banquet and a private supper. He is also set to meet with France’s Prime Minister and the Presidents of the French Senate and National Assembly.

The PM will meet with the Indian diaspora in France, CEOs of Indian and French firms, and significant French figures individually.

The Prime Minister’s visit will provide an opportunity to map the partnership’s future direction across various sectors, including strategic, cultural, scientific, academic, and economic collaboration.

On 15 July, the Prime Minister will travel to Abu Dhabi for the second phase of his trip. He will meet with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi.

The India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership has been steadily growing, and the Prime Minister’s visit will provide an opportunity to discover ways to expand this in areas such as energy, education, healthcare, food security, fintech, defense, and culture.

It will also provide an opportunity to explore global cooperation, particularly in light of the UAE’s Presidency of COP-28 of the UNFCCC and India’s G-20 Presidency, to which the UAE is a Special Invitee.
