Bokaro : In a momentous event, more than 65 students of Delhi Public School (DPS) in Bokaro had the privilege of witnessing the awe-inspiring launch of Chandrayaan-3, India’s prestigious lunar mission. Accompanied by their teachers, the students gathered at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) launch site in Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, to witness this historic event today.

The anticipation and excitement were palpable as the students assembled in the designated area. This visit served as an educational trip and ignited the young minds with a sense of curiosity and inspiration for space exploration. The students were thrilled to be part of this significant moment and were eager to witness the launch firsthand.

As the countdown began, the atmosphere became charged with enthusiasm. The students were completely immersed in the aura of the space center, surrounded by advanced technology and the expertise of scientists and engineers. The launch site is a testimony to India’s remarkable progress in space exploration.

At precisely 2:35:17 p.m., amidst thunderous applause and cheers, Chandrayaan-3 lifted off from the launch pad, propelled by a powerful GSLV Mk III rocket. The sight was nothing short of surreal, leaving everyone in awe of the incredible feat achieved by the Indian space scientists.

Chandrayaan-3, India’s third lunar exploration mission, aims to continue the legacy of its predecessors and further enhance our understanding of the moon. Equipped with advanced scientific instruments and technology, the mission seeks to unravel the mysteries of the lunar surface, study its geology, and analyze the presence of water or other valuable resources. Aadya Mishra, a Class 11 student and a participant in this experiential learning program, said, “This Chandrayaan 3 launch experience exceeded every expectation we had created in our minds! It was an absolute joy to watch. The excitement of the last 10-second countdown, the passion of crowd chants and the greatest adrenaline rush when the spacecraft rocketed into the sky escape words! It felt like we were a small but significant part of this project. All that July heat and humidity we endured felt worth this momentous launch. We hope Chandrayaan-3 successfully lands on the moon and helps India take a giant leap in its Space Program.”

The students of DPS Bokaro were fortunate to witness the beginning of this remarkable journey. Several students expressed their aspirations of becoming astronauts, scientists, or engineers, inspired by the grandeur of the launch.

DPS Bokaro Principal Dr A S Gangwar shared his thoughts on the experience, saying, “Witnessing the launch of Chandrayaan-3 has been an incredible opportunity for our students. It has sparked their curiosity and instilled a sense of pride in our nation’s scientific achievements. We hope this experience will encourage them to pursue their dreams in the field of science and contribute to the progress of our country.”
