ANS: In a significant stride towards its mission to study the Sun, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) announced on Tuesday the successful completion of the second Earth-bound maneuver for Aditya L1.

On the official X platform, ISRO conveyed, “The execution of the second Earth-bound maneuver (EBN#2) proceeded flawlessly from the ISTRAC facility situated in Bengaluru.”

During this pivotal operation, the ISTRAC/ISRO’s ground stations located in Mauritius, Bengaluru, and Port Blair closely tracked the trajectory of the satellite. ISRO specified, “The resulting altered orbit measures 282 km x 40225 km.”

Anticipating the next maneuver (EBN#3), ISRO slated it for September 10, scheduled to occur around 02:30 hrs. IST.

A notable achievement for ISRO unfolded with the successful launch of its inaugural solar mission, Aditya L1, on September 2, from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.

The ambitious journey to study the Sun through the Aditya L1 mission is expected to span around 125 days before reaching its destination.
