On September 10, Modi ceremoniously handed over the symbolic gavel to Brazil’s President, Luiz Inacio da Silva, extending his best wishes for Brazil’s upcoming presidency.

During the summit’s closing moments, Prime Minister Modi highlighted that India’s G-20 presidency would remain in effect until November 30, providing over two months for India to lead the group. Modi put forward a proposition to convene a virtual session of the G-20 towards the end of November, aimed at reviewing the suggestions and decisions formulated during the leaders’ summit.

“In the last two days, you have voiced your perspectives, provided recommendations, and tabled numerous proposals. It is our duty to thoroughly examine these suggestions to determine how we can expedite their implementation,” remarked Modi.

“I propose we schedule another virtual G20 session at the end of November. During this session, we can evaluate the issues that were agreed upon during this summit. Our teams will share the specifics with all of you. I hope all of you will join this session,” he added.
