Bokaro: A magnificent ceremony, the Vidyapati Samman Samaroh, was orchestrated by the social and cultural organization, Mithila Sanskritk Parishad, on a Friday evening.
The event took place at the Mithila Academy Public School campus in Sector 4, Bokaro.

Priyadarshi Alok, Superintendent of Police (SP) for Bokaro was the chief guest on the occasion, while Priya Ranjan, CEO of Dalmia Cement, Balidih, Bokaro, graced the occasion as the special guest. The event was inaugurated with the traditional lighting of the lamp and the garlanding of a portrait of the renowned poet Vidyapati by the esteemed guests, which included Mithila

Sanskritik Parishad President Anil Kumar, Vice President Rajendra Kumar, General Secretary Avinash Kumar Jha, Mithila Academy Public School President Hari Mohan Jha, Secretary PK Jha Chandan, and President of Mithila Mahila Samiti Seema Jha.

In accordance with Mithila’s cultural traditions, the council honoured the chief guest Priyadarshi Alok, and special guests Priya Ranjan, and Nikki Ranjan with traditional Paag, shawl, and Mithila paintings.

During the event, the council extended its appreciation to the dedicated officials and workers who played a pivotal role in the Vidyapati Smriti Parv ceremony held earlier in April this year. This two-day event showcased drama and cultural presentations involving artists from Bokaro.

In addition to these honours, educationists Arun Kumar Jha, Manju Jha, and Digambar Jha, who had travelled from Mithila, were also recognized and applauded.

SP, in his address, underscored the significance of the Maithili language and the distinctive aspects of education, art, culture, and cuisine that contribute to the identity of Mithila. He acknowledged that in today’s era, the influence of modernity has grown among the youth, making programs like this crucial in connecting urban youth with Mithila’s culture and traditions. He commended the praiseworthy efforts of the Mithila Sanskritik Parishad, Bokaro, in this regard.

Special guest Priya Ranjan also emphasized the essential role that the institution plays in promoting the art and culture of Mithila through various events.

Anil Kumar, Chairman of the Council, provided an overview of the Parishad’s activities and the achievements of Mithila Academy Public School, which is affiliated with CBSE up to Plus Two and is operated by the Parishad. Avinash Kumar Jha, General Secretary of the Parishad, presented an annual report detailing the Parishad’s activities.

The evening also featured a captivating cultural program with renowned singers, including Arun Pathak, Umesh Kumar Jha, Avinash Jha, and singer Karishma Prasad, who enthralled the audience with melodious Maithili songs. The program included performances of Bhagwati Vandana and Shringaar Ras, with a duet by Karishma Prasad and Arun Pathak receiving special praise from the audience.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Shambhu Jha, Cultural Program Director of the Stage Steering Parishad, and Rajendra Kumar, Vice President. It was attended by various dignitaries, officials, and members of the Mithila Sanskritik Parishad and the community.
