JNS: DVC Mazdoor Sangh has extended its congratulations to the management of the Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) for facilitating the transition of 456 DVC employees from the new pension scheme to the old pension scheme. The Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, in collaboration with the DVC Mazdoor Sangh, has also expressed their joy over this significant development.

Tapan Kumar Das, the Central General Secretary of DVC Mazdoor Sangh, commended the DVC’s decision, highlighting that it was made possible through the cooperation of the Government of India. He praised the DVC’s commendable move, which has now converted 456 employees of DVC, including existing and retired personnel, who were appointed after January 1, 2004, from the New Pension Scheme (NPS) to the Old Pension Scheme (OPS).

This transition was facilitated through Instruction No. Pl/IR(NPS/GPF)/2021/-1944, issued on October 31, 2023, by the Executive Director of Human Resources in Kolkata. The Central level of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh and DVC played a pivotal role in advocating for this transformation.

It is a significant outcome of the persistent efforts of the labor union at the corporation level, ensuring that the aforementioned DVC employees are now covered by the old pension scheme.

This milestone also encompasses 240 displaced DVC employees from the Mejia Thermal Power Station who were appointed after January 1, 2004.

Argha Basu, President of the DVC Labor Union, and General Secretary Tapan Kumar Das of DVC conveyed their heartfelt gratitude to the management for this decision and extended their congratulations to all the affected employees.
