ANS I Bokaro: A distressing incident of theft and vandalism unfolded at the under-construction premises of the Bokaro Press Club, which is being developed under the auspices of the Bokaro District Administration, last night.
Situated in close proximity to Bokaro Airport, between the residences of the Superintendent of Police (SP) and Usha Petrol Pump, unidentified miscreants wreaked havoc, prompting the Bokaro Press Club General Secretary, Shashank Shekhar, to file an FIR on Tuesday.
In his FIR, Shashank Shekhar revealed that the district administration had allocated 25 decimal lands for the construction of the Bokaro Press Club building. Recently, significant progress has been made in securing the premises, including the installation of wire fencing and a gate, all done under the direction and supervision of the district authorities. Furthermore, a prominent signboard bearing the name of the Bokaro Press Club had been prominently placed near the entrance.
The unfortunate incident occurred on the night of January 1, 2024, when unidentified individuals stole iron materials intended for the construction of a large entrance door within the Bokaro Press Club premises.
In addition to the theft, they attempted to inflict damage on the gate. Notably, the perpetrators also targeted the signboard of the Bokaro Press Club, causing significant damage.
Expressing his concern and seeking justice, Shashank Shekhar has implored law enforcement to review the footage captured by the closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras positioned at the nearby Bokaro SP residence and Usha Petrol Pump. He has urged authorities to identify the individuals responsible for this malicious act and take appropriate legal action against them.
Additionally, he has called for the continued cooperation of the police to safeguard the assets and property of the Bokaro Press Club against future threats and incidents.
