ANS: East Central Railway celebrated International Women’s Day with various programs aimed at promoting women’s empowerment. As part of these initiatives, a felicitation ceremony was held for women railway workers at the Vaishali Railway Auditorium in Hajipur Headquarters on Friday.
The event was inaugurated jointly by General Manager Tarun Prakash and President of East Central Railway Women Welfare Organization Meenakshi Sharma.
On the occasion, Sharma honoured 66 women railway employees for their outstanding performance in the years 2023-24.
During his address, General Manager Tarun Prakash congratulated all female railway employees and praised their remarkable contributions to the railway service. He expressed pride in the dedication and performance of the women railway workers, stating that they are contributing significantly to every field.
He expressed confidence that with the support of these dedicated women, East Central Railway will achieve new heights of success.
Additionally, a health awareness program was organized for women railway employees at the Central Super Specialty Hospital of East Central Railway in Patna. The program included a presentation on “female foeticide,” highlighting important health issues affecting women.
