Gaya: Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed a public gathering in Paliganj near Patna in the Patliputra Lok Sabha constituency on Saturday, focusing on Other Backward Castes (OBC) and Economically Backward Classes (EBC) ahead of the Lok Sabha 2024 elections. In a spirited speech, Shah thanked the people of Bihar for their support and expressed confidence in winning all 40 seats in the state.
Shah criticized the Congress Party and Lalu Prasad Yadav for neglecting the legacy of Karpoori Thakur, a champion of Bihar’s backward classes, and praised Prime Minister Modi for posthumously awarding him the Bharat Ratna. He also took jibes at Sonia Gandhi and Lalu Prasad, accusing them of prioritizing family ambitions over public service.
Accusing Lalu Prasad of land grabbing from backward and destitute people, Shah promised tough action against land mafias. He announced plans to form a committee to investigate and punish those involved in such activities.
Shah highlighted Modi’s achievements, including lifting 25 crore people out of poverty, providing free food grains to 80 crore people, and delivering basic amenities like toilets, houses, and gas cylinders to millions of underprivileged households. He contrasted this with allegations of corruption against the RJD and Congress, listing various scams allegedly involving the parties.
Shah concluded by affirming Modi’s clean record, contrasting it with the alleged corruption scandals of the opposition.
