ANS: Mumbai witnessed a dazzling coronation as Krystyna Pyszkova from the Czech Republic was crowned Miss World 2024. The prestigious event, marking India’s return as the host country after 28 years, unfolded at the Jio World Convention Centre in BKC.
Competing against 112 contestants from around the world, the 24-year-old Krystyna emerged victorious at the 71st Miss World pageant. Last year’s titleholder, Miss World 2022 Karolina Bielawska of Poland, passed on the crown to Krystyna, while Yasmina Zaytoun of Lebanon claimed the First Runner-Up position.
Krystyna Pyszkova is not just a beauty queen; she is a student pursuing degrees in Law and Business Administration, a dedicated volunteer, and an accomplished international model. Her philanthropic efforts include founding the Krystyna Pyszko Foundation and establishing an English school for underprivileged children in Tanzania. Her passion for Music and Art is evident from her nine-year stint at an Art Academy.
India’s representative, 22-year-old Sini Shetty, who was crowned Femina Miss India World in 2022, did not make it to the top 4. India boasts a remarkable Miss World legacy, with six previous winners including Reita Faria (1966), Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (1994), Diana Hayden (1997), Yukta Mookhey (1999), Priyanka Chopra Jonas (2000), and Manushi Chillar (2017).
The panel of 12 judges for the finale included notable personalities such as film producer Sajid Nadiadwala, actors Kriti Sanon and Pooja Hegde, cricketer Harbhajan Singh, news personality Rajat Sharma, social worker Amruta Fadnavis, Vineet Jain (MD of Bennett, Coleman & Co. Limited), Julia Morley (Chairperson and CEO of the Miss World Organization), Jamil Saidi (Strategic Partner & Host – Miss World India), and three former Miss World titleholders, including Manushi Chillar.a
