ANS I Gaya: A group of Japanese social workers has extended a helping hand to underprivileged children in Bodh Gaya, setting a heartwarming example of compassion and support. These children, belonging to hardworking laborer families, face economic hardships that affect their access to quality education.

The Lotus Charitable Trust has taken the lead in bringing smiles to their faces and improving their educational opportunities.

A delegation of seven Japanese nationals, led by Kohei Yuasa, Director of Hill’s Holdings Company of Japan, visited the Lotus Free School in Bodh Gaya’s Neema village to interact with the students and offer their assistance.

The Japanese team expressed admiration for the students’ potential and brilliance, emphasizing that they only require a little support to excel.

During the visit, the Japanese team engaged with the students, gathered educational information, and expressed their commitment to providing better educational opportunities, informed Deepak Agarwal and Santosh Kumar of Lotus School.

The students welcomed the team warmly, and a traditional puja was performed at the school as per Vedic rituals. The visitors prayed for stronger relations between India and Japan, and for global peace.

Kohei Yuasa praised India’s rapid growth and highlighted the promising nature of the students at Lotus Free School. He expressed his company’s commitment to supporting these children and enhancing educational and cultural exchanges between India and Japan. The delegation also discussed plans to send students to Japan for further educational opportunities.

Lotus Free School provides free education, uniforms, meals, and books to children in need. The delegation included Hiroaki Suzuki, Yoshitaka Machiya, Ryota Iwakami, Masahiko Okabe, Shuji Hemmi, and Ms. Rina Narita. Their visit exemplifies the spirit of international cooperation and solidarity in helping those less fortunate.
