New Delhi: In response to a devastating landslide in Papua New Guinea’s Enga province, India has dispatched 19 tonnes of Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) supplies.
This shipment is part of a $1 million aid package announced by India last month, reflecting its strong commitment to supporting its Forum for India-Pacific Islands Cooperation (FIPIC) partners.
The Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, detailed the aid on social media. The supplies include 13 tonnes of disaster relief materials, such as temporary shelters, water tanks, hygiene kits, and ready-to-eat meals.
Additionally, 6 tonnes of emergency medical supplies, including medicines, medical equipment, dengue and malaria diagnostic kits, and baby food, were also provided.
India’s timely assistance underscores its dedication to aiding the Pacific island nation during this critical time.
