Chaibasa: Dr. Bharti Kashyap, Chairperson of Women Doctors Wing IMA Jharkhand, announced the transition from Jyoti Suraksha Abhiyan to Janani Suraksha Abhiyan in the Saranda division area. This shift comes as part of a concerted effort to focus on women’s health in the region.
The Women Doctors Wing IMA Jharkhand, in collaboration with the Forest Department, Saranda Forest Division, will organize a “Mega Mahila Swasthya Camp” on June 14, 2024, at 9 am in SAIL Hospital, Gua.
SAIL Hospital Gua and Health Department West Singhbhum have played a pivotal role in organizing this camp.
The event will be graced by DC Kuldeep Chaudhary of Chaibasa as the chief guest and DDC of Chaibasa, Sandeep Meena, as the special guest.
Dr. Kashyap highlighted the importance of the camp, stating that it aims to address various women’s health issues, including cervical cancer. The Women Doctors Wing IMA Jharkhand has been actively working on cervical cancer eradication campaigns across the state since 2014.
Following the camp, the focus will shift to Noamundi, Kiriburu, and Chakradharpur for the Janani Suraksha Abhiyan and Jyoti Suraksha Abhiyan. The objective is to provide free checkups and treatment for tribal and economically disadvantaged women in the area.
The camp will address symptoms such as foul-smelling discharge, post-menopausal bleeding, bleeding during intercourse, and irregular bleeding between menstrual periods. Women experiencing these symptoms are encouraged to attend the camp and avail themselves of the free checkups and treatments provided by the team of gynecologists.
Dr. Kashyap also emphasised the importance of maintaining proper genital hygiene, avoiding multiple sexual partners, and getting regular checkups, especially for sexually active women.
The campaign will involve a team of doctors from SAIL Hospital, led by Dr. C Mandal, along with their support staff, to ensure the success of the program.
