Bokaro: The Bokaro district team for the upcoming 14th Jharkhand State Senior Swimming Competition has been finalized. The event, scheduled to take place in Jamshedpur on June 29, follows rigorous selection trials organized by the Bokaro District Swimming Association.

These trials were held on Sunday at the Delhi Public School (DPS) Bokaro swimming pool in Sector-4, with over 50 participants from various schools and locations.

The trials began early in the morning, with enthusiastic swimmers diving into the pool to demonstrate their skills. After thorough evaluations, 13 swimmers were selected based on their outstanding performance across various events.

Dr. A.S. Gangwar, President of the Bokaro District Swimming Association and Principal of DPS Bokaro, announced the selected team members, comprising seven boys and six girls: Aditya Singh, Ishan Alok, Aranya Rohan, Varunaditya Roy, Ankit Basu, Pragyan Kumar, Anand Raj Devnath, Anubhuti Jha, Priyashree Dubey, Anushka Yashi, Supriya Singh, Gurleen, and Aditri Chauhan. Coach Rupesh Kumar will accompany the team to Jamshedpur.

The Bokaro district team will compete at the JRD Sports Complex Swimming Pool in Jamshedpur, showcasing their abilities in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly stroke, freestyle relay, and medley relay events.

Dr. Gangwar extended his best wishes to the team, noting that top performers from this competition will be considered for Jharkhand’s national teams, set to participate in the 77th Glenmark Senior National Swimming Championship 2024, organized by the Swimming Federation of India in September.
