Bokaro: Adi Ayushmann, a student of DPS Bokaro, has once again demonstrated his exceptional talent in shooting by clinching the top spot in Jharkhand. In the recently concluded 14th Jharkhand State Shooting Championship 2024, held at the K. Surendra Singh Shooting Range in Deoghar, Adi emerged victorious in both the senior and junior categories.
Adi showcased his dominance in the competition, securing first place in the (A-71) Open Sight 50m Rifle Prone Men and (A-72) Open Sight 50m Rifle Prone Junior Men events, achieving an impressive score of 495 points each time.
In the senior category, Adi surpassed his closest competitor, Harshdeep Singh from Jamshedpur, by a margin of four points. Similarly, in the junior category, he outshone Anurag of 10X Rifle Shooting Club with a lead of ten points.
The championship witnessed participation from over 100 contenders representing various districts and rifle clubs across Jharkhand. Adi’s remarkable double-gold triumph has not only earned him accolades but also secured his position in the upcoming East Zonal Shooting Competition, slated to take place in the coming months.
Acknowledging Adi’s outstanding achievement, Dr. A.S. Gangwar, Principal of DPS Bokaro, awarded him a medal and extended heartfelt congratulations. Dr. Gangwar expressed confidence in Adi’s potential to excel further at regional and national levels, emphasizing the pride that Adi’s success brings to the entire Bokaro and coal belt region.
This isn’t the first time Adi Ayushmann has shone on the state’s shooting stage. Last year, he secured gold medals in both junior and senior categories, where he triumphed over national shooter Arindam Bose.
Adi attributes his success to the guidance of his father, Vinod Kumar Yadav, Deputy Commandant of CRPF in Bokaro, who has nurtured his shooting skills. With unwavering support from his family and school, Adi excels not only in sports but also academically, and enjoys playing badminton alongside pursuing his passion for shooting.
As Adi gears up for the zonal competition, the community eagerly anticipates his continued success on the national platform, cheering him on for his accomplishments both in and out of the shooting arena.
