Ranchi: A major confrontation unfolded in Ranchi during the Yuva Aakrosh rally organized by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) on Friday. The rally, which saw thousands of BJP workers and leaders march towards the Chief Minister’s residence, resulted in violent clashes with the police.

As the procession moved from Morhabadi ground towards the CM’s residence, police set up barricades to halt their progress. In response to the crowd’s defiance, law enforcement deployed tear gas shells and water cannons to disperse the demonstrators. The intense measures led to chaos, with water cannons targeting both protesters and BJP leaders. The tear gas and water cannon assault ultimately forced the crowd to disperse.

The rally, led by prominent BJP figures such as Babulal Marandi, Arjun Munda, Amar Bauri, and Deepak Prakash, was organized to protest against the Hemant Soren government’s alleged failure to deliver on promises made to the youth during the 2019 assembly elections.

Several BJP and BJYM leaders, along with activists, suffered health issues due to the tear gas. Additionally, Lower Bazar police station officer in charge Dayanand Kumar was injured in the skirmish with protesters.

The incident highlights the escalating tensions between the BJP and the state government, with significant security measures in place to manage the unrest.
