Dhanbad: Chandan Studio of Dhanbad made a remarkable impression at the state-level photography competition organized by the Dumka Photography Club, clinching the first prize in both the “Tourism” and “Climate Change” categories. The event was held on August 19th, in celebration of World Photography Day, and featured a photography and reels competition alongside a photo exhibition titled “Our Jharkhand: Tourism and Climate Change.”

The photo exhibition, which was inaugurated by District Nodal Tourism Officer Tufan Poddar and special guest Sanjeev Hansda, showcased a diverse collection of photographs from across Jharkhand. These images highlighted the state’s tourist attractions and the pressing issue of climate change.

Chandan Pal of Dhanbad’s Chandan Studio excelled in the competition, earning top honors in both the Tourism and Climate Change categories. In addition to Pal’s achievements, awards were presented to other outstanding photographers across various categories:

Climate Change DSLR Photography: Chandan Paul (First Prize), Sampanna Soren (Second Prize), Sameer Ranjan Murmu (Third Prize); Climate Change Mobile Photography: Prerna Hansda (First Prize), Amy Emmanuel Marandi (Second Prize), Daniel Hembram (Third Prize); Tourism DSLR Photography: Chandan Paul (First Prize), Anil Kumar Pandit (Second Prize), Sukhdev Hembram (Third Prize); Tourism Mobile Photography: Raj Kumar Murmu (First Prize), Kundan Kumar Pal (Second Prize), Abhishek Kumar (Third Prize); Tourism Reels: Aditya Raj (First Prize) and in Climate Change Reels: Kundan Kumar Pal (First Prize).

The event also included a tree planting ceremony in honor of all participants and sponsors. Each tree will be nurtured by the members of the Dumka Photography Club as part of their commitment to environmental conservation.

Notable participants in the event and tree planting program included Bal Kishore Tudu, Sanjeev Hansda, Susanna Marandi, Balwant Singh, Kamlesh Marandi, Kedar Nath Pal, Anuj Besra, Benison Hansda, Barun Murmu, Francis Murmu, Sam Samuel, Lucas Soren, Sukomal Hembram, Mustafa Alam, and Munna Murmu.

The competition and accompanying initiatives highlighted the talent within Jharkhand and underscored the importance of addressing climate change while celebrating the state’s natural beauty.
