Bokaro: A Financial Literacy workshop was held today at Chinmaya Vidyalaya Bokaro, organized by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Ranchi. The event was inaugurated with a lamp-lighting ceremony attended by Chief Guest Prem Ranjan Prasad Singh, Regional Director of RBI, Vishwarup Mukhopadhyay, President of Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Swamini Sanyuktananda Saraswati, Residential Acharya of Chinmaya Mission Bokaro, and Vice Principal Narmendra Kumar.
The Vice Principal highlighted the importance of financial education, noting its role in national development and the Reserve Bank of India’s approach to integrating financial knowledge into school curricula.
Prem Ranjan Prasad Singh emphasized that financial education should begin in school, reflecting the RBI’s commitment to economic growth and fraud prevention. He discussed India’s rapid economic progress and the RBI’s efforts to raise awareness about financial security.
During the workshop, a quiz on financial literacy was held, with students winning prizes for their knowledge. Singh advised students to carefully plan investments, use net banking cautiously, and avoid sharing personal information or falling for fraud.
The event concluded with the planting of three fruit trees on the school premises. The workshop was conducted by Supriya Chaudhary and attended by various dignitaries including Dr. Roshan Sharma, Nishant Singh, Dr. Namita Sharma, Subrat Gupta, Nisha Sinha, Sanjeev Singh, Siven Chakravarti, and Rupak Jha.
