Bokaro: BJP State Working Committee member Kumar Amit has called for an end to the harassment of villagers by traffic police in Bokaro district. Amit met with Traffic DSP Ashish Mangali to discuss and address the ongoing traffic-related issues affecting local residents.

During the meeting, Kumar Amit presented a memorandum highlighting concerns about the frequent and unnecessary stops made by traffic police at key areas such as Chas ITI More, Chas Block Headquarters, and Jodhadih More. He argued that these practices are disproportionately affecting the poor, laborers, and farmers, causing widespread frustration among the villagers.

Amit emphasised that while issuing fines is part of the traffic police’s duties, their role should also include educating the public about traffic rules. He proposed the initiation of a special awareness campaign in rural areas to better inform villagers about traffic regulations.

In addition to addressing harassment, Kumar Amit requested improvements to traffic management in Bokaro. His demands include the establishment of vehicle parking facilities at various locations such as Chas Check Post, Jodhadih Mod, and City Center Sector 4.

He also called for the installation of CCTV cameras throughout the city and the creation of a new traffic police post at Talgadiya Mod.

The Traffic DSP, Ashish Mangali, assured Amit that positive steps would be taken to address these concerns. The meeting was attended by several local BJP members, including Karan Gorai, Lalbabu, Ratan Mahato, Rohit Soren, Shyam Mahato, Chandraprakash, Deepak Kumar, and Vikas Yadav.
