Purnia: In a significant development for farmers in Bihar, Land Reform and Revenue Minister Dilip Jaiswal announced the postponement of the special land survey, allowing farmers three additional months to gather necessary documentation. This decision aims to ease the burden on farmers as they navigate the paperwork required for the survey.
Speaking to journalists in Purnia, Minister Jaiswal stated that during this three-month period, officials and employees involved in the survey will receive training in the Kaithi script, which is essential for interpreting historical land records.
The announcement comes in the wake of the recent passing of MP Pappu Yadav’s father, during which Minister Jaiswal also extended his condolences to Yadav.
“We want to ensure that farmers have ample time to locate their documents,” Jaiswal explained. “We will issue an official letter within the next two days outlining this extension.” He emphasized the importance of collaboration, stating that discussions will be held with public representatives to identify any challenges faced by farmers during this process.
Furthermore, the minister indicated that all Circle Officers (COs) from the department have been summoned to Patna for training and to address any shortcomings in their practices. “We expect improvements; otherwise, we will take necessary actions against those who do not comply,” he asserted.
This move is seen as a positive step toward addressing the concerns of farmers and streamlining the land survey process in Bihar.
