Ranchi: The 38th Regional Mine Rescue Safety Competition culminated today at the Convention Center of Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), marking a successful two-day event held from September 25 to 26 at MRS Ramgarh and Bhurkunda UG, Barka Sayal area. A total of 12 teams participated in this year’s competition.

The closing ceremony featured a warm welcome from the Army Band as dignitaries arrived. Notable attendees included Dr. S.S. Prasad, Deputy Director General of the Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS), and CCL CMD Nilendu Kumar Singh. The event also saw the presence of senior officials from the DGMS, including Aftab Ahmed and N.P. Devri, alongside CCL directors and other distinguished guests.

The ceremony commenced with the lighting of a lamp by the dignitaries, followed by a speech from General Manager (Security) S.K. Singh, who provided an overview of CCL’s rescue services.

A captivating dance and drama presentation by students from DAV, Gandhinagar added to the event’s vibrancy. A short film showcased the various competitions held during the event.

Participants engaged in eight competitions, which included: Relay Race, Online Test, Flag Hoisting, First Aid Competition, Statutory Test, FAB, Rescue and Recovery.

The program concluded with the presentation of awards to the winning teams by the dignitaries, celebrating the skills and dedication of all participants in promoting mine safety and rescue readiness.
