Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur Zoo is in mourning following the death of its cherished white tiger, Kailash, who passed away at the age of 14 after a prolonged battle with cancer.
Zoo staff expressed deep sorrow over the loss, honoring Kailash with full last rites. Dr. Palit, the zoo veterinarian, highlighted that while white tigers typically live for 9 to 10 years, Kailash exceeded that lifespan, making his passing particularly poignant.
In response to this loss, the zoo management is exploring options to bring in another white tiger and plans to initiate crossbreeding with the existing tigresses to help sustain the population.
