Bokaro: DPS Bokaro hosted ‘SRIJAN,’ a two-day Science Summit aimed at fostering curiosity and hands-on exploration among students. The event, which concluded on Thursday, featured inter-house competitions in child rights, science projects, robotics, information technology, and quizzes, with around 150 students participating.

Inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr. Somnath Chattopadhyay, Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department at IIT ISM Dhanbad, the summit emphasized the potential for learning beyond the classroom. Dr. Chattopadhyay highlighted the role of innovative youth in achieving a developed India by 2047.

The exhibition included 42 stalls across junior and senior categories, with themes like ‘Science and Technology for Sustainable Development.’ Students showcased projects on eco-harvesting, solar purification, and child rights issues such as stress and addiction recovery. Robotics displays featured projects like cargo transport robots and robo-wars.

In the junior category of the Science Exhibition, Ganga House’s ‘A Surge of Life’ won first place, while Raavi House’s ‘Smart Home Project’ led the senior category. Child Rights winners included Chenab House’s ‘Vivid Dreams’ in juniors and Sutlej House’s ‘Stress and Strain in the Digital Age’ in seniors.

In robotics, junior category winners were Raavi House with ‘Hydrophonics—Plant Growth Chamber,’ while Jhelum House’s ‘Prototype Neo’ topped the senior category. Additional competitions in IT and quizzes further highlighted student achievements.

Principal Dr. A.S. Gangwar emphasized the importance of such events in promoting scientific awareness and leadership, reinforcing the school’s commitment to holistic development.
