Bokaro: Chinmaya Vidyalaya successfully hosted a vibrant cross-cultural inter-school dance competition in its newly constructed auditorium, celebrating the artistic talents of students from various schools.

The event was inaugurated by Acharya Swamini Sanyuktananda Saraswati of Chinmaya Mission, along with school president Biswaroop Mukhopadhyay, Treasurer R.N. Mallick, Principal Suraj Sharma, Vice-Principal Narmendra Kumar, and esteemed judges including Nirmalya Sharma, Komal, Udit Pratap Singh Dev, and Arvind Kumar, who all participated in a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony.

This marks the second consecutive year that Chinmaya Vidyalaya has organized the competition, aimed at fostering creativity among students. The ceremony began with a welcome song and a dance dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi. Principal Suraj Sharma emphasized the importance of nurturing students’ artistic talents alongside their academic pursuits, stating, “Through this competition, children can discover the artist within them, which shapes their identity.”

The competition featured participants from 11 schools in Bokaro and Ranchi, including A.R.S Public School, Rainbow Public School, MGM HS Sector 4, GGPS Chas, GGPS Sector 5, DAV Sector 4, Delhi Public School Ranchi, Mithila Academy Sector 4, Crescent Public School Sector 6, Sri Ayyappa Public School, and Chinmaya Vidyalaya. The theme of the competition, “Seasons and Festivals,” showcased a variety of performances, including Assam Folk Dance, Bihu Dance, and Rajasthani Folk Dance, among others.

Judges declared Chinmaya Vidyalaya the winner based on the students’ performances and costume expressions, with Crescent Public School Sector 6 as the runner-up and G.G.P.S. Sector 5 taking third place. Chief guest Acharya Swami Sanyuktananda Saraswati commended all participants, highlighting their role as custodians of India’s cultural heritage and the importance of passing on traditions to future generations.

The event was attended by numerous school principals from the Bokaro area, including Principal Somen Chakraborty of GPS Sector 5 and Principal Ashok Pathak of Mithila Academy.

Vice Principal Narmendra Kumar concluded the program by thanking participants, teachers, and attendees, while the program was skillfully conducted by Anushree Majumdar and Abhinav Patnaik. Coordinators Sonali Gupta and Supriya Chaudhary played a pivotal role in ensuring the competition’s success, supported by the student council of Chinmaya Vidyalaya.
