New Delhi: The Congress party announced its list of candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections, nominating two candidates for Jharkhand and four for Maharashtra.
In Jharkhand, the party has selected Sweta Singh to contest from Bokaro and Ajay Dubet from Dhanbad.
For Maharashtra, the candidates are Sajid Khan Mannan Khan from Akola West, Heera Devasi from Colaba, Chetan Narote from Solapur City Central, and Madhurimaraje Malojiraje from Kolhapur North.
The Assembly elections in Jharkhand will occur in two phases on November 13 and November 20, with the counting of votes scheduled for November 23. In Maharashtra, the election will take place in a single phase on November 20, also with counting set for November 23.
The BJP is aiming to maintain its power in Maharashtra, supported by its allies Shiv Sena, led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and the NCP, headed by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
