New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that India is progressing towards implementing a One Nation Civil Code, envisioned as a Secular Civil Code. Speaking at the ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ celebrations in Kevadia, Gujarat, on Wednesday, Modi emphasized that the establishment of a secular civil code is essential to eliminate discrimination within society.

Highlighting the successes of previous initiatives aimed at national integration, Modi pointed to the widespread adoption of Aadhar, stating that it has garnered international attention as a symbol of a unified national identity.

He referenced the transition from multiple tax systems to the unified Goods and Services Tax (GST), showcasing the government’s commitment to streamlined governance.

Modi also discussed advancements in the power sector, noting the creation of a One Nation One Power Grid, and the integration of welfare services through the One Nation One Ration Card initiative. Additionally, he mentioned the introduction of the Aayushman Bharat scheme, which provides health insurance to millions across the country.

Looking ahead, the Prime Minister outlined plans for a One Nation One Election framework, which aims to enhance the democratic process and optimize the use of national resources. He asserted that these initiatives are crucial for propelling India towards its goal of becoming a developed nation.
