Gaya: As the by-elections in Bihar’s Bela, Imamaganj, Tarari, and Ramgarh assembly constituencies heat up, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav made a grand appearance in Belaganj to address a public rally. His presence energized the crowd, who had been eager to see the veteran leader back in action.
During the rally, Lalu Yadav took aim at both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, calling for the uprooting of the BJP from the region. In a characteristic fiery speech, he appealed for unity between the Muslim and Hindu communities to defeat the “communal forces.” He urged the crowd to rally behind RJD candidate Vishwanath Prasad Singh and emphasized the importance of staying united.
Lalu’s rallying cry was loud and clear: “By pressing the button on the lantern symbol, we will uproot the BJP like a radish. We will throw Narendra Modi across the seven seas!” The crowd erupted in applause as Lalu delivered his signature line with enthusiasm.
In a light-hearted moment, Lalu broke into his favorite political song, “Lagal Lagal Jhulniya Mein Dhakka Balam Calcutta Chali,” adding a personal touch to the campaign event. The crowd, caught up in the rhythm, danced along to Lalu’s impromptu performance, a hallmark of his charismatic style.
The by-election in Belaganj is especially significant as Vishwanath Prasad Singh, the son of former minister Surendra Prasad Yadav, is contesting the seat. Surendra Yadav had held the seat for 34 years before becoming an MP, and Vishwanath faces the challenge of preserving his father’s political legacy. His main rival is JDU’s Manorama Devi.
Lalu Yadav’s visit comes amid accusations from JDU spokesperson Neeraj Kumar, who had claimed that Tejashwi Yadav, Lalu’s son, was politically “detaining” his father from active participation in the campaign. Lalu’s appearance and vigorous campaigning served as a clear rebuttal to these claims, showcasing his continued influence in Bihar’s political landscape.
The elections in Bihar and Jharkhand are crucial for all parties involved, and Lalu Prasad Yadav’s fiery rhetoric is sure to add momentum to RJD’s bid for success in the region.
