ANS: The Oscar-shortlisted short film Anuja will soon make its streaming debut on Netflix, reaching audiences in over 190 countries. Directed by Adam J. Graves and produced by Suchitra Mattai, the film tells the poignant story of two sisters navigating a world filled with exploitation and exclusion as they search for joy and opportunity.

Anuja is shortlisted for Best Live Action Short Film at the 97th Academy Awards and highlights the universal struggles of young girls globally. The film is backed by an impressive team, including producers Mindy Kaling, Guneet Monga Kapoor, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, with executive producers Anita Bhatia and others. It was made in collaboration with the Salaam Baalak Trust, with lead actor Sajda Pathan a beneficiary of the organization.

Graves emphasized that the film captures the resilience and hope of working children, made possible through partnerships with NGOs like the Kailash Satyarthi Children’s Foundation. Kaling and Monga also expressed their excitement about the film’s message and Netflix’s global platform, ensuring its far-reaching impact.
