New Delhi: The Indian Army is all set to showcase its might during the 76th Republic Day celebrations at Kartavya Path on January 26th, with Indonesia participating as the Chief Guest. Brigadier Kristomei Sianturi of the Indonesian Army confirmed that 352 Indonesian soldiers will take part in the grand parade, including a contingent and an Indonesian military band.

This year’s parade, themed “Swarnim Bharat: Virasat Aur Vikas,” will feature 26 vibrant tableaux from various states, union territories, and ministries, highlighting India’s rich cultural diversity and inclusivity.

In a media briefing held in New Delhi today, Major General Sumit Mehta outlined the Indian Army’s participation, including a Mounted Column, eight Mechanised Columns, and six Marching Contingents. Among the major attractions will be the battlefield surveillance system and a display of the DRDO’s Pralay weapon system.

The parade will also emphasize India’s advanced military capabilities, with impressive displays of weaponry including the Bhishma T90 Tank, Nag Missile System, Bajrang light specialist vehicle, Nandighosh Quick Reaction Force Vehicle, Brahmos, Agnibaan, Pinaka, and Akash systems. Marching contingents from the armed forces, Central Armed Police Force, and National Cadet Corps (NCC) will also take part.

The Republic Day Parade, which will begin at 10:30 AM, is expected to last for 90 minutes. Captain Ritika Khareta from the Corps of Signals, who will lead the Indian Army’s marching contingent, expressed her deep appreciation for the opportunity to represent her unit in this prestigious event.
