Kolkata: The Indian Army introduced its latest technological innovation during the Republic Day celebrations on Sunday, showcasing the advanced robotic dogs known as ‘MULE’ (Multi Utility Legged Equipment), also referred to as ‘Sanjay’. These high-tech robots are engineered to navigate difficult terrains such as stairs and steep hills, making them invaluable assets for various military operations, including perimeter security, asset protection, and hazardous chemical-biological-nuclear scenarios.

Designed to carry a payload of up to 15 kg, the robotic dogs are capable of functioning in extreme temperatures ranging from -40°C to 55°C. The Indian Army has already deployed 100 units across different battalions, highlighting their versatility and strength in modern warfare.

At the ceremony, West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose hoisted the national flag at Red Road. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee marked the occasion by sharing a video of the event on social media platform X, reflecting on the 76th anniversary of the Indian Constitution. She praised the document for its role in safeguarding India’s sovereignty, secularism, democracy, and federalism. Banerjee also honored the contributions of freedom fighters and Constitution framers, particularly Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, and called for a renewed commitment to the nation’s foundational values of unity, harmony, and inclusivity.
