Bokaro: Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel, Shri H.D. Kumaraswamy, and Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Steel, Bhupatiraju Srinivas Verma, arrived in Bokaro on January 27 for their first visit to the Bokaro Steel Plant. They were accompanied by SAIL Chairman Amarendu Prakash. Upon arrival, they were welcomed at the airport by BSL Director-in-Charge Shri B.K. Tiwari and other senior officials.

During their visit, the ministers toured key units of the plant, including the Coke Oven and Coke Chemicals, Sinter Plant-2, Blast Furnace No.-2, and the Hot Strip Mill, where they received detailed briefings on the production process.

In a significant highlight, Kumaraswamy inaugurated the 2150-ton-per-day Air Separation Unit, manufactured by M/s Inox, with Inox Managing Director Siddharth Jain, SAIL Chairman, and BSL officials in attendance.

In the afternoon, the ministers attended a presentation at Bokaro Niwas, where they were briefed on the plant’s production, ongoing projects, medical services, and township activities. The visit also included a meeting with representatives from various trade unions and the Bokaro Steel Officers Association.

The ministers’ visit will conclude on January 28.
