ANS: In a remarkable feat, a Nelore-bred cow, named Viatina-19, has set a new Guinness World Record after being auctioned for an astounding Rs. 40 crore in Minas Gerais, Brazil. While the cow was bred in Brazil, it carries Indian heritage due to the significant role of the Ongole breed in the development of the Nelore species.

Viatina-19, who weighs an impressive 1,101 kilograms—twice the average weight of a typical cow from the same breed—was sold for a price that has now earned it the title of the most expensive cow ever sold at auction.

The cow’s extraordinary value is attributed to a combination of its exceptional genetics, muscular physique, and remarkable heat tolerance. These characteristics have not only made it a record-breaker in price but also a globally recognized champion in the field of cattle.

Adding to her accolades, Viatina-19 has been crowned “Miss South America” at the prestigious Champions of the World competition, a title she earned due to her rare genetic lineage and exceptional muscle structure.
