Bokaro: A contract laborer tragically lost his life at the Vedanta Electro Steel Plant (ESL) in Parbatpur, located about 35 kilometers from the Bokaro district headquarters, on Sunday morning. The deceased, identified as Ganesh Nayak, was employed by E2E Energy Company, a business partner of ESL.

According to sources, Nayak suddenly fell ill while working at the plant and lost consciousness. His colleagues, along with plant management, immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival. Eyewitnesses reported that the cause of death was later determined to be a brain hemorrhage.

In an official statement, ESL management confirmed that Ganesh Nayak, employed by E2E Energy, passed away due to natural causes, as per reports from witnesses and co-workers present at the scene.

“We deeply regret this unfortunate incident and extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of Ganesh Nayak. ESL is committed to the welfare of its employees and the surrounding community. In line with our core values, we will offer full support to the family during this difficult time,” the statement read.

In response to the tragedy, ESL management announced a compensation of Rs 25 lakh for the deceased’s family. Additionally, they have promised employment to the next kin of the deceased as part of their commitment to assisting the bereaved family. Immediate assistance of Rs 2 lakh was also provided, along with Rs 75 thousand for funeral expenses.

BJP leader Laxman Nayak visited the site to offer his condolences to the grieving family.
