Ram Navami, the celebration of the birth of Lord Rama, is being observed with great religious fervor and enthusiasm across India today. The festival marks the birth of Lord Rama, the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu, and falls on the ninth day of the Chaitra month. It is preceded by a nine-day fast during Navratri, observed by Hindus in preparation for this auspicious occasion.

President Droupadi Murmu extended her warm wishes to the nation on Ram Navami, highlighting the festival’s core values of religion, justice, and duty. In a social media post, she emphasized the ideals of Ram Rajya, the ideal model of governance established by Lord Rama, known for its principles of justice, welfare, and prosperity. The President also urged citizens to work together for the development of India while pledging to uphold these values.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also greeted the nation on Ram Navami, expressing in a social media post that the blessings of Prabhu Shri Ram would always guide the people in their endeavors. He shared his excitement about his visit to Rameswaram today to join in the celebrations.

In Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Rama, thousands of devotees from across India and the world have gathered to commemorate the occasion. Special arrangements have been made by the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra to ensure a smooth experience for the influx of visitors. Akashvani reports that the city is fully prepared for the grand celebrations, with numerous devotees offering prayers at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple.

The temple has been decorated with special flowers, and as part of the celebrations, Ramlala will be offered 56 bhog. A special Surya Tilak was applied to Ramlala’s forehead at 12:00 noon, lasting for about four minutes. This sacred moment, carried out by a team of experts, was broadcast live worldwide. To enhance the experience further, water from the Saryu River is being sprinkled on devotees via drone, and a Deepotsav will be held in the evening.

According to reports, the administration has set up temporary camps along Rampath and arranged drinking water at 243 locations, anticipating large crowds. Security arrangements have been reinforced to ensure the safety of devotees.
