Bokaro: Chinmaya Vidyalaya Bokaro successfully conducted a two-day workshop on School Health and Wellbeing, aimed at inspiring and educating teachers. The event was inaugurated by Secretary Mahesh Tripathi, School Principal Suraj Sharma, Resource Person Dr. P. Shailaja Jaikumar, and Anandita Bhadra, who lit the ceremonial lamp and chanted mantras.
Aligned with the new education policy, the Capacity Building Program facilitated this session under the Ayushman Bharat initiative. The workshop, designed by NCERT and UNESCO, aims to equip teachers with the necessary skills to implement its framework in all CBSE-affiliated schools.
Principal Sharma emphasised the importance of comprehensive development—cerebral, physical, moral, and emotional—for children, stressing the need to eliminate gender inequality and nurture capable citizens who contribute to societal evolution.
He noted that such workshops are essential for building teachers’ capacities to foster healthy citizens, which in turn creates a healthy society.
The workshop covered all 11 models developed by NCERT and UNESCO, including Growing Up Healthy, Emotional Well-being, Interpersonal Relationships, Value and Responsible Citizenship, Gender Equality, and Nutrition Health. Engaging activities kept the teachers enthusiastic and involved throughout the sessions. Scholars and skill trainers Dr. P. Shailaja Jaikumar, Principal of Shri Ayyappa Public School Bokaro, and Anandita Bhadra, Head Mistress of Delhi Public School Bokaro, ensured the workshop remained engaging and informative.
The program concluded with a session on promoting safe online and media use, led by Anandita Bhadra. Teachers’ understanding was assessed through a Q&A session. Principal Sharma praised Dr. Shailaja Jaikumar and Anandita Bhadra for their expertise and contributions, presenting them with a keepsake in appreciation.
The workshop ended with a performance of the school song by the music department, led by Supriya Choudhary. Teachers Sanjeev Singh, Panchanand Sharma, Randhir Narayan, Rajneesh Choudhary, Ragini, Anjani, and others also supported the successful event.
