Ranchi: In a significant move to enhance Jharkhand’s healthcare infrastructure, Chief Minister Champai Soren reiterated the state government’s commitment to providing quality medical services. Speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony of Gautam Medical College and Hospital at Ranchi Smart City Campus, he highlighted ongoing efforts to fortify health structures.
Chief Minister Soren emphasized that establishing Gautam Medical College in the private sector is a significant milestone in the state’s healthcare development. “This initiative will undoubtedly propel the state’s progress and ensure better medical services for our people,” he stated.
Addressing the healthcare needs of Jharkhand, CM stressed the necessity of setting up new medical colleges and hospitals. He pointed out that Jharkhand currently has fewer medical institutions compared to the national average.
“The state government is continuously working towards establishing new medical colleges and hospitals, either privately or through public-private partnerships. This will greatly benefit the local population,” he assured.
Soren declared the government’s full support for investors in the health sector. He invited potential investors to present their plans, promising serious consideration and incentives based on government policies. “This approach aims to accelerate the state’s development,” he noted.
Highlighting the financial strain on residents seeking treatment outside the state, the Chief Minister stressed the importance of local medical advancements. “We are modernizing medical colleges and hospitals, ensuring the latest testing machines and availability of doctors. This will eliminate the need for residents to travel out of state for medical treatment,” he explained.
Soren underscored the government’s focus on upgrading healthcare in rural and remote areas. “Our goal is to provide adequate health care to everyone, from rural villages to urban centers. We are improving health centers and encouraging private medical colleges and hospitals to establish facilities in rural areas,” he said. He called for collective efforts to provide quality healthcare to the state’s population.
