Bokaro: The Sakhi Bahinpa Maithilani Group commemorated its 9th Foundation Day with an evening of celebration and solemn reflection on Saturday in Sector 1C. The event was marked by heartfelt performances and speeches from prominent members of the group.

The foundation day festivities began with a ceremonial lighting of lamps, followed by a series of melodious performances. The group’s president, Amita Jha, general secretary, Usha Jha, and cultural in-charge, Jayanti Pathak, each addressed the gathering, expressing their gratitude and reinforcing their commitment to advancing the group’s mission for the betterment of women and the community.

The members delivered a stirring rendition of the group song, “Hum Ek Chi Sab Sakhi Bahinpa, Sweekar Nai Hamra Adhinata,” emphasizing unity and solidarity within the group. Other musical highlights included the Ganesh Vandana and Bhagwati Vandana, featuring the song “Jai Jai Bhairavi Asur Bhayuni…”

Notable performances included Pinky Jha and Usha Jha’s presentation of “Devki Yashoda Dunu Bahin…” and Namita Jha’s rendition of “Jhula Lage Kadam Ki Daali…”.

Sangeeta Jha and Preeti Priya also contributed to the evening with their bhajans, adding to the celebratory atmosphere.

In a poignant moment of the event, the group expressed their condemnation of a recent incident in Kolkata. Members called for stringent action against those responsible and observed a two-minute silence to honor the memory of a deceased doctor, praying for the peace of the departed soul.

The celebration was not only a reflection on the group’s achievements but also a reminder of their ongoing commitment to social issues and community welfare.
