Ranchi: The Indian Institute of Coal Management (IICM), the corporate training hub of Coal India Limited (CIL), successfully hosted a three-day Capacity Building Program on IT initiatives concluded on Saturday. This program was organized as part of a broader three-month campaign advised by the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC).

Brajesh Kumar Tripathy, Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of CIL, delivered a keynote address to over 250 CIL executives, including young management trainees participating in the ongoing Management Skills Development Program (MSDP), attendees of the IT initiatives program, and IICM faculty members. Dr. Kamakshi Raman, Executive Director of IICM, welcomed Shri Tripathy and set the tone for the event.

During his engaging two-hour address, Tripathy stressed the critical role of vigilance in the operations of Coal India. He used examples from various sources, including scriptures, to highlight the need for the company to shift from a rule-based approach to a value-based system.

Tripathy also emphasized the importance of preventive vigilance and ethical governance, urging all executives to consider themselves key players in the company’s vigilance framework. His speech was both inspiring and motivational, reinforcing the idea that vigilance is crucial for the overall growth and success of Coal India.
