Bokaro: In a demonstration of its ongoing dedication to community development and sportsmanship, ESL Steel Limited, a Vedanta Group Company, reaffirmed its support for local talent through its Vedanta ESL Archery Academy on National Sports Day. The day, dedicated to honoring the birth anniversary of Indian hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand, highlights contributions to Indian sports.
ESL Steel Limited, recognized for its extensive social welfare initiatives and numerous awards from national and international organizations, continues to advance its community engagement through this state-of-the-art archery academy. Located within the plant premises in Siyaljori, the Vedanta ESL Archery Academy serves aspiring archers from the rural areas of Chas and Chandankiyari blocks in Bokaro district. The academy offers essential resources, professional coaching, and quality equipment to nurture young archers.
On National Sports Day, the company announced an expansion of its training program to include 50 dedicated archers, ranging from beginners to advanced levels. The academy provides uniforms, personalized coaching, and access to a well-maintained archery ground. In addition to these facilities, the academy ensures proper nutrition and plans to enhance its offerings with an in-house gym, recurve bow training, and increased participation in national tournaments.
Since its inception in 2020, the Vedanta ESL Archery Academy has achieved notable success, with students winning a total of 185 medals across National, State, and District level competitions. The number of medals has consistently increased, with recent achievements including 21 medals at the 15th Jharkhand State Archery Tournament in Hazaribagh. The academy also hosted significant events such as the District Archery Tournament and the Vedanta Challenge Inter-Academy Tournament, where its archers excelled.

Notably, the Vedanta ESL Archery Academy, launched as part of ESL Steel Limited’s CSR initiatives, is now a premier institution dedicated to fostering archery talent in Jharkhand. It provides comprehensive training, nutrition, and motivation to 50 young archers, aged up to 21 years, from rural areas, and is led by a team of renowned professionals.
