Bokaro: Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) and NDDB Foundation for Nutrition (NFN) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Ispat Bhawan to launch a significant nutritional initiative. This agreement will see 2,300 free milk packs distributed daily to children in various CSR-supported and government schools as part of NFN’s flagship “Gift Milk Program.”
The MoU outlines the distribution of 200 ml flavored milk, enriched with Vitamin A and D, to six DAV-Ispat schools, two schools operated by Bokaro Mahila Samiti, and 13 government schools over the next nine months, spanning a total of 150 distribution days.
The signing ceremony was attended by key BSL officials, including Executive Director (Finance & Accounts) Suresh Rangani, Chief Medical Officer (BGH) Dr. B.B. Karunamay, Chief General Manager (HR-L&D) Manish Jalota, Chief General Manager (City Administration) Kundan Kumar, and Head of Communication Manikant Dhan. NFN representatives and District CSR Nodal Officer (Govt. of Jharkhand) Shri Shakti Kumar were also present.
Rangani praised the MoU, stressing the importance of monitoring and resource utilization to ensure the program’s success. Dr. Karunamay highlighted the initiative’s role in addressing malnutrition among schoolchildren.
Kumar lauded BSL for pioneering this initiative in the Bokaro district. NFN officials provided detailed insights into the gift milk distribution process.
Senior Manager (CSR) Neeraj Kumar Tripathi and his team were acknowledged for their significant contributions to the program’s successful launch.
