Ranchi: The Jharkhand government underwent a reshuffle on Friday, with three ministers having their portfolios reallocated. Ramdas Soren, a senior leader of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and MLA from Ghatshila, was sworn in as the new minister at Raj Bhavan. Governor Santosh Gangwar administered the oath of office and secrecy to Soren.
Ramdas Soren replaces Champai Soren, taking over the departments previously managed by him. This appointment marks Soren’s first entry into the cabinet, having previously been elected twice as the MLA from Ghatshila.
The swearing-in ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Satyanand Bhogta, Rameshwar Oraon, and other senior leaders of the ruling party.
The ministerial position became vacant following Champai Soren’s resignation on Wednesday. JMM proposed Ramdas Soren as his successor, and the recommendation was promptly accepted by Governor Santosh Gangwar, leading to today’s ceremony at 10:30 AM.
