New Delhi: The Indian government has blocked several websites that were found to be leaking sensitive personal information, specifically Aadhaar and PAN card details of citizens. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology identified these sites for violating privacy regulations.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has filed a complaint regarding breaches of the Aadhaar Act of 2016, specifically section 29(4), which prohibits the public display of Aadhaar information. Additionally, the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-IN) has reported security vulnerabilities in the affected websites.

As a precautionary measure, website owners have been advised on necessary actions to rectify these security issues and safeguard user information.
